Splitting The year is 3029. Apart from a few thousand stragglers hanging onto life, the entire galaxy has been wiped out by a mysterious, deadly group known only as the cleaners. But for past three hundred years there has been peace. Nobody has seen a cleaner ship. But neither have they ventured to the destroyed and desolate planets. The rim of the safe systems that inhabit is also off limits. So these poor wretches live out their lives going back and forth from system to system attempting to make themselves a bit of money and whatever luxuries they can get.Safe SystemsMap These safe systems on the galaxy’s rim are the only place left. Every species, be it human or visor has moved here, forced by a massive cleaner force. Some systems are dangerous to be in. Some are protected by police. Some are miner’s havens. Some are shrouded in space dust so thick they look like clouds. At average split speed it takes roughly 15 minutes to navigate the nebula from top to bottom. Many have died trying. Many do it everyday to make a living.Stations & Amenities

Station

Weary travellers can dock at stations littered around the safe systems. Some may be in dangerous areas, some are actual pirate stations but all are required to stay alive. There used to be areas people could congregate and travel to the planets. But that was a long time ago. Now they’re dirty cesspools - for drunks, rogue droids and tired traders. There is also a $4 docking charge.

Job Prospects

Mission Computer

The life of a human isn’t easy. Neither is the life of a visor beast. But there are some things you can do to make it easier. Money, whatever’s left and whatever’s worth something is always nice. You can check out the job computer. There can be simple courier jobs… to jobs where you have to find people, take people somewhere, clear some junk from a system, pick up some cargo or even kill a pirate. It’s all there and more.

Upgrades & Reading Material

Upgrades

Each ship is designed to be be fitted with extremely modular upgrades. These enhance the ship’s capabilities; sometimes useful, always expensive. From the asteroid scanner to the shield re-charger, they have their uses and take room in the cargo bay. Other upgrades include low fuel reminders, tractor beams, autopilots, split computers, fuel scoops, afterburners, cargo scanners, electro-magnetic counter measures to name but a few.
